16" Universal 12V 160W Curved Blade Push Type Electric Radiator / Intercooler / A/C Condenser Cooling Fan

Part Number: SRU-PUSH16C-160W
Application: Universal 12V

Description

Our range of lightweight slimline universal electric cooling fans come in a variety of sizes to suit most automotive applications. Featuring a more robust design and manufactured from higher quality components for improved reliability, these fans are ideal for use as a radiator fan, intercooler fan, auxiliary engine bay cooling fan, or A/C condenser fan.

Fans are available as either Pull or Push type, with the blades assembled differently for each type. The motor is reversible:

  • Pull type: Use black wire as live (+) and red wire as ground (–).
  • Push type: Use red wire as live (+) and black wire as ground (–).

Pull fans mount on the rear (engine bay side) of the radiator to draw air through the core. Push fans mount on the front (bumper side) to blow air through the core toward the engine.

Recommendation:
Where possible, we recommend using a Pull type fan as cooling is generally more effective than the equivalent Push type fan.

Airflow Ratings (CFM) – Important Note

Airflow ratings are often quoted in CFM (cubic feet per minute). While useful in theory, these figures can be unreliable or misleading for several reasons:

  1. Lack of standardized testing
Different brands test in different conditions (free air vs. installed, different voltages/shrouds), making direct comparison difficult.
  2. Installed airflow is lower than free-air airflow
Once mounted to a radiator/condenser, resistance from the core reduces effective airflow.
  3. Some advertised CFM figures are exaggerated
Inflated numbers are common in the aftermarket and may not reflect real-world performance.
  4. Motor power and blade design matter more
True cooling performance depends on motor wattage, blade pitch, diameter, and build quality—more than a single airflow number.

Fitting & Wiring

The most secure installation method is onto a shroud or brackets bolted to the original fan or shroud mounting points on the radiator. Alternatively, a core-mount kit can be used. We also offer a Stainless Steel Mounting Kit (SRU-SSFFKIT) which mounts the fan directly to the radiator core and provides a stronger, more secure solution than common plastic zip-tie mounting kits.

Wiring Note (Universal Fan)
This is a universal fan and will require wiring. The plastic connector contains 2× 6.3mm (6mm) male spade terminals and accepts standard insulated female spade terminals. We recommend wiring direct from the battery via a standard 4 or 5 pin 30A automotive relay and an inline fuse.
